What is an Advertisement?

Advertisement may be a short film/clip, article, written notice that helps to sell a product in the market by the way of attracting people towards the product. Advertisement also helps for the awareness of people about various products or the products that are newly launched. Advertisements may be used for different purposes. For example it can be used for new products and it can be also used during the recruitment of new employees for a company.

Above you can see advertisements may be used for the promotion of a product, and below used for the purpose of hiring new people for a company.


An advertisement can be used for sell something and at the same time for the purpose of buying something. The following titles are used for the two aspects.

In the past the major channels/sources of advertisements were mainly the radio channels and newspapers but now, as per development of technology, there are various means of technology such as social media via Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Yahoo and televisions, newspapers and magazines
